Five friends and I have been playing AD&D, with the same party, together for more than a year. One evening, a guy and his girlfriend joined us directly with level 12 characters, they were really a nightmare he played a thief-coward hiding it the shadows all the time not helping us in the fights but nevertheless claiming the biggest part of the loot, his girlfriend a Paladin, casts detect evil each time we come to a village or town and charges all the NPCs that happen to be evil and getting the whole party into a lot of trouble.

We could not exactly kill them since we weren't exactly evil and they were friends of the DM. But in one ruined citadel our spellcasters have used up all their spells and we were a bit wounded we were deciding to find a place to rest when the Paladin-girl spotted a couple of wraiths and charged blindly, we did not follow her. The Thief seeing his girlfriend in trouble and us not helping went into combat for the first... and last time, both ended up killed by the custom uber-wraiths.

He tore his character sheet to pieces and left the room, she followed him crying and we ended up befriending the Wraiths.
