I had a similar trouble sometime ago, try this...
Go into your system properties, and Device manager and see if the modem is there. If it is check its properties and clicke the Properties tab and then check the part that says Interrupt request, if there is no number there click on it and choose 5 or 10.
Restart the computer... and pray... [img]smile.gif[/img]
