RAM is a generic term for Random Access Memory.
SDRAM as has been stated is Synchronous Dynamic RAM, SD Ram is rated by the memory clock rate ie. PC100 is a 100MHZ clock, PC133 is a faster 133MHZ clock. DDR RAM is Double Data Rate RAM, this means that for each clock cycle you get two reads of the memory. Normal SDRAM only has one read per clock cycle (I wont go into leading edge and trailing edge of the waveform stuff) DDR RAM is the best bang for the buck right now and is only slightly slower than RDRAM also known as RAMBUS RAM. RAMBUS archetecture is supposedly the fastest memory on the market but is also the most costly, and DDR Memory is takeing over the market. Well Hope that helps.
