Many people seem to be dismissive of the occult as a fat load of hogwash. But I'm apt to wonder if one would receive the same response if the same sceptics were presented with certain allegedly real occult practices which are claimed to yield actual results if one really tried them. Such as, say, a ritual magic spell involving drawing magic circles and lighting candles, etc. Would you shy away with a certain vague feeling of uneasiness because something in your mind makes you think there might be 'something' to it -- something which, once set in motion, might be disastrous? Or would you still laugh it off -- perhaps even try it just for a few laughs and just to show yourself and everyone that it's all hogwash?
