If you're worried about spending too much time on IW you could try a version of an experiment that's used as exposition of the evils of TV.

Sit down to watch a bunch of programs (or in this case check IW) and say that you will do it for an hour or more. Have a friend or relation take an alarm clock or timer and set it for some time greater than a half an hour and less then your set time. You won't know how much time is on the timer. It's important. When the alarm sounds ask yourself: "Did I feel really alive right then?" You should get an interesting range of answers and justifications.

Personally I think IW is very healthy. If I get stuck on a problem in a game I get really frusterated. I can get annoyed at the game or become distracted at work. IW relieves a great deal of stress.

And in my rather short time here I've never felt that awful internet feeling that people are being pompous idiots because they can hide behind their keyboards.
