Anti-Climatic. That is the term I would use to describe the Improved Dragon AI mod. It had looked promising at first, when my solo Sorcerer and Project Image illusion got roasted in one hit from Firkragg's Dragon's Breath( that somehow managed to bypass my Mirror Images) after talking smack to Firkragg and challenging him to a fight.
Whistling and raising one of my eyebrows, I reloaded my Quicksave and reconsidered my tactics. There was no point using a Project Image, Firkragg would flambe it in one hit. Ergo, I had to use my real Sorcerer instead to deal with Firkragg. Digging among my Scroll Cases, I extracted a green scroll, a Protection from Fire scroll. I mean wow! I cannot remember the last time( if ever) my Sorcerers had to use a green scroll.
After reading the scroll, I strolled down to talk with Firkragg again and basically told him he could shove his "mercy" up where the sun does not shine. When the fight began, I immediately start casting Time Stop and wondered how to deal with Conster the Mage, when suddenly, Firkragg solved that issue... ...
Note to the developers of the IDAI Mod. It is generally not a good idea when Firkragg toasts his own lackey, especially a level 15+ lackey within the first 2 seconds of the fight.
Anywayyyy, my Sorcerer's 100% Fire Resistance means he laughs off Firkragg's Dragon's Breath and although Firkragg manages to Wing Buffet my Sorcerer, it does not render Odin unconscious, so as he is "floating" backwards, the Time Stop activates. Taking a moment to walk back to Firkragg, Odin casts Improved Alacrity and well... let the screenshots do the talking.
The Er... "Fight"
Comments:
--------
1) There is something amusing about 6 panics in a row, as though Firkragg just had a total nervous and mental breakdown.
2) "Houston, we have contact." Witness the power as the combined might of several levels of spells slammed into the target. The astute reader will note that Firkragg died so fast, his speech triggered
AFTER his death, leading to some morbid post-mortem dialogue.
