First off, Oblivion, please watch your language and avoid flaming and flamebaiting. If you aren't religious or don't care to associate with those who are that's your business. You are entitled to your opinions but if you express them in a way that denigrates others on this board or expressly invites a flamewar it is in violation of the the rules.
As to the topic at hand: I definitely think that if one is giving a funeral service or the eulogy, 'speaking ill of the dead' isn't too classy. I most certainly don't advocate beating anyone or violence in this situation but the pastor should be told by the family and friends that he was out of line and if they paid for his services, I'd think about asking for a refund.
