I'll have to agree that a lot of it really, really blows. Like for example DragonBall Z. But the basic style isn't too bad, it worked well in the game FF7 for example, in which case the guy with the huge sword was cool. It wasn't really anime, though, just had a lot of anime-ish touches on the characters....

Now let's look at the reasons why I cannot stand DBZ:

Half of it is just main characters standing around groaning like they're constipated. They waste several episodes doing this, then they exchange seven punches and the battle is over.

The characters are all totally awful.

Besides for two or so of the main characters the rest are just there to either make inane comments or die and be ressurrected later on.

If you want to see a good version of anime, though, play the game FF7. Anime-ish graphics, non-anime-ish coolness.....
