I suppose the medical field and the dietetics field don't always agree with one another. The bio-chemistry class she took is but one of many classes in the Nutrition field. And one teacher's opinion can be completely opposite of another's of the same profession.

No disrespect meant in this post to your input. But you don't have to listen to your wife come home from school and tell you word for word everything she had learned that day. I only had her side of the story, but yes...the one that you mentioned is one of those that she learned was not a healthy diet,,,even if it works, doesn't mean it is without it's faults.
No sweat, Larry, I have been arguing with dieticians about this for so long that I sort of saw it coming. The problem is that many people mistake ketosis (the condition of having ketones in your blood, seen in anybody while dieting) with ketoacidosis (the condition, seenin diabetics, of having so many ketones in your blood that your acid:base balance is altered, perhaps fatally.) I know well that I am not gonna convince anyone here, but suffice it tsay that my weight (and Gal's) remain down, my cholesterol and triglycerides are normal, and I feel great.
