They convicted him for perjury, not for leaking Plame to the press. Nobody has even been charged for that yet. The act was reprehensible, but lie-ing about it isn't the same thing as doing it. He needs to go to jail, to show the politicians that nobody is above the law, but the odds are that he wouldn't see one day behind bars. Probation, with a big slap will be about it.
