I think you guys are forgetting that common sex acts cannot compare to the violent crime of a rape, which takes this discussion to a level that you have failed to consider so far.
Puberty is reached between the ages of 8 to 13. Dakota is 12. (FYI, She's also playing the part of a 12 year old girl in this movie). The odds are that she has started puberty, but she is not yet 13, so there is a chance that she has not...and if she has, she only just started and is still undergoing changes that are new to her...If her own body has not gone through the hormonal and bodily changes necessary to prepare her for a sexual experience in real life, how can she mentally make an informed decision to play the victim of a rape in a movie?
