The world sometimes looks like a better place when you put it all in context. Will this guy still be around in, say, 50 years? What about 80? The book might live longer. Maybe few thousand years, if enough copies are preserved in optimum conditions. If new copies are constantly made, bits will eventually lost in translating it into what the language has changed to. And if it was made with second-quality pigment on second-quality paper, and none really care about it, the author might even outlive it.

In a hundred years he will be rembered by very few. In five hundred, none. In twenty thousand, glacier cover large parts of the globe and it will have made absolutely no difference whatsoever whether he lived or not and everything he ever accomplished in life will be dust.

You don't really need a hell.

Also, for the record, I would like to say I have no idea what I'm talking about.
