No, the way it's supposed to work is ideological opposites are forced to work together to reach a middle ground. This is why I always want to see different parties in power in the different branches of government.
Pelosi had lunch with Bush today and they both stated they would be working through and past ideological differences. This is a good thing, not a bad one.
