Thoran I don't want to spoil a good thing here but I can go the other way and say the only truthful justified argument for the war that I have heard is to free the people of Iraq from a tyrant. The other reasons being spewed were/are possibly total bull. If they had tried this approach from the beginning as opposed to dumping horse manure more countries would have been alongside.
Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I disagree that the "manure" wasn't necessary. I don't know what the Coalition Leadership REALLY thinks regarding justification for war, but it's those justifications that you term as cow or horse byproducts that gave them the modicum of a legitimate basis for the action. Sad to say but if anything, I think there would have been MORE resistance to the war if "freeing the Iraqi people" was the only argument. Perhaps all those arguments were only a means to an end, perhaps Pres. Bush and PM Blair actually believe them... I doubt we'll ever know.
