In the Gulf War, the Iraqi soldiers were surrendering in such large numbers that the National Guard units assigned to securing and processing them were severaly lagged down. I know several members of our local National Guard unit personally...one was in our gaming group at the time.
He said the soldiers were throwing down their weapons and lining up to be taken prisoner. One of the officers of the unit told my dad that it took them 3 days to cover a 10 mile stretch one time, because they were being flooded with so many prisoners, their transport units were filled to capacity and had to keep returning to base camp.
Vaskez - There is no shame in not being loyal to an evil tyrant like Saddam Hussein. And I beleive it only adds validity to the numerous claims of atrocities committed against the Iraqi people by Saddam. His people do NOT "love him". A great many of them hate him as much as we do....probably more so, since they have to live with his evil on a daily basis..
