So, I don't know. I think that letting your airports being used for the war, and things like that, that does make it more possible to be attacked. It doesn't mean you would, but the risk does go up (a bit). [img]smile.gif[/img]

I think you are dead-bang on about this Spelca. But, I think that being a NATO member is only one of several characteristics that make you a target for extremist attacks, some others being:
Christian
Maybe other "infidel" religions
Capitalist
Free/Democratic
Liberal (especially towards sexuality and/or women's rights)
Wealthy.
I think any of these has the power to incite fanatic extremist ire nearly as much as NATO membership.
