Maybe the Turks don't want any interference when they themselves invade North Iraq. They already are patrolling the region. And of course they still have a score to settle with the Kurds in North Iraq. And of course there are the large oil fields near the Kurdish territory. That's quite a few reasons NOT to have any US eyes around.
