Cheers and happy debating.
I hope that Memnoch does not mind me putting particular emphasis on the above extract from his excellent post. By it's very nature this forum is going to stir up some very passionate emotions and no doubt thare will be controversial opinions posted.

I would ask that all participants exercise restraint, especially when replying to a post that "pushes their buttons" so to speak. If you really feel enraged by a particular viewpoint, that is absolutely the wrong time to compose a hasty and emotional reply. Stand up, walk about, have a cup of coffee or go for a walk. In fact, do anything rather than start or participate in a flamewar. You are all reasonably intelligent people - use that intelligence to respond in a reasoned and respectful way.

Finally, and connected to the above is a question. I would ask that you examine whether this is the sort of debate and discussion that you really wish to participate in? I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from giving an opinion, but I have rather bad memories of some of the behaviour from this forum when it was last open.

By it's very subject matter, this forum will tend to be more rough and tumble than most. If you habitually get upset by disagreements or do not thrive on serious debate, then this forum may not be the place for you. I'm sure that I speak for the mods here when I say that they do not have the time to play therapist to every fragile ego which might become bruised.

Anyway, enough of the serious stuff, I'm away to participate in a "Murder Mystery" themed Hogmanay party. I expect to sober up around 3rd January. Until then, have fun, behave and have a Happy New Year
