I said it, and I've argued the point repeatedly with SC and will continue to rebut this idea. To say that the conflict in Afghanistan is about money, or a pipeline, after September 11th just doesn't make sense. If we really wanted the oil from the region, why worry about a landlocked country that would only be part of a pipeline. Why not just take a country with a huge oil supply and a coast, so we can load it directly into US tankers?
I still find it amazing that people who want to be against something will use anything they can to make their point, even though there is something quite a bit more obvious as the reason. Why believe the obvious when there could be a hidden agenda? Some may not think the war in Afghanistan is the right way to go, but that doesn't mean that every conspiracy theory that could possible apply does.
Hehe, here be SC. Ronn, I think you're erring when you say you've repeatedly argued the oil/afghanistan point with me. I think you mean with my sister Tracey? I may have mentioned it once, but certainly no more. She posted the original newspaper article, if I remember rightly, and she was the one who defended it. I believe I had very little to say on the subject, actually...
Just waiting for Nachrafe to dredge through some old posts and bring up a comment I made ages ago...... LOL :Cheetah sits, chin in hand, awaiting the inevitable..:
