Putin was the first to call President Bush after the terrorist attacks on September 11th, and has offered a level of co-operation no one would have anticipated.
According to previews, he is pro-Bush, but also discusses concerns about Afghanistan. If anyone knows and is worth listening to in this regard Russia is the one.
