I wish to formally protest at the banning of Diogenes from this forum.

Firstly, I was not aware that one could be banned for the content of an email. Time and again I have seen the mods post, - if you have a beef, take it up privately with the mods/Ziroc, by email. Dio did this. Why was he banned from the forum for a point made off the forum?

Secondly, if we are to talk about arrogance, I have seen a tidy bit of it displayed here since September 11th, by myself as well as by others. Very few of us posting on the war forum are innocent. If we are to talk about degrees of arrogance, Diogenes is far less so than many others here, the most extreme of whom assume (it is implicit in their posts) that their viewpoint is 'right' and the rest of us are 'trolls' who should be buried in the nearest deep hole (together with our opinions....) There was a recent mail from J.J. to Ziroc on this very subject.... which I can go off and find should anyone be interested....)

What is bothering me here is that Dio is banned, and others, who have done exactly the same things, are not. Memnoch has already called me on my calling the integrity of the moderators into question. I called Ziroc's integrity into question, - no one else's. The reason I did this is, as I have said already, that I perceive that people who are anti-war (or at least not firmly pro) or anti-christian (or again, at least not firmly pro) are treated differently than those who share views with Ziroc.

This is Ziroc's board, and he can do as he likes. Well, he has. I for one am very very unhappy about what has happened, both with Dio and with Tracey. I have loved posting here for many months now, perceiving it as a place where I could come with my views, and debate and play with others of like and unlike mind, until recently.

I'm getting so I'm scared to open my mouth - the reason being NOT that I want to flame, - I do not - but that because views different to mine are somehow perceived as being closer to the 'truth', with people seeming to feel they are somehow justified in wording these views (i.e. pro-war) more strongly, and defending them in ways that are often actively unpleasant - they feel that because they have 'right' on their side, (only *their* opinion, I hasten to add)they are justified. Snide and patronising comments are often clothed in a fake and insincere 'sweetness', or presented in a world weary, 'isn't this obvious? Sigh' kind of way, as though dissenters to the popular view are children who just cannot manage to engage with a point. Any 'anti' replies that are made to such posts, which may be similar in tone to the posts replied to are then jumped on, very often. (Apologies for the generalising here... but I'm trying to make a point, and if I go into all instances, this post will be three pages long at least...)

I would email this to Ziroc and Memnoch, but after what happened to Dio, don't really see the point. So I've posted this in open forum, so everyone can see where I'm coming from....
