You see, by saying America is the greatest you automatically rubbish every other nation on the face of earth. I know that is not the INTENTION and I am sure it never occurs to you how it affects those outside America - you are just being belligerently patriotic because you feel vulnerable (with justification!).
But it is sometimes not easy for the rest of us to make allowances, human nature being what it is, lol!

Not as hard as you think. Plus, if you're like me, it gives you stuff to debate on. But the bottom line is, if you don't want to see it, don't read it. It's the opinion of some people on this board (more than just Ronn_Bman) that the USA is indeed the greatest. They are entitled to express their opinions just as much as we. And we should respect who posted the opinion regardless of who we think is right.

Now, you don't have to convince me about your second point. That's what I was trying to point out in my "listen friend" tread. I know that's how they are perceived around the world. Much less in Canada, but still, that's how people unfortunately label Americans. That's why I would have prefered that only non-Americans posted to show them that indeed, that's how they are generally perceived and that, if it's unfortunately the case amongst allies, that it must be much worst around neutral or "ennemy" countries.
