Intoxodude, I think the scariest thing is that they´re not insane. There is no lack of 'logic' to what they do, just fatally flawed logic.

Ever heard of the quote: "There but for the grace of God go I..."

Fear and ignorance. Fear and ignorance. The seed of most, if not all hostility yes?

Best not to dwell on this if it´s upsetting you. (Which it sounds like it certainly is).

Remember:

There is nothing in this scenario that hasn´t happened before.

Your distress will not do anything about it - except give you high blood pressure, lack of sleep and depression.

There are plenty of other statues and memoirs elsewhere from the Buddhist past that the Taliban can´t destroy.

As evident just from this board and from the international outcry, MANY AGREE WITH YOU.

I go numb when I hear about stuff like this. I just think...
"I can´t change this so I´ll focus on what I can do" - Like buying freerange eggs, avoiding purchasing swordfish, eating less meat, recycling, smiling at people, becoming a contributing member of Greenpeace, praying, and now - avoiding any products from Afghanistan.
