Wolgir yes Christianity is a religion of forgiveness and love, but historically has been used by less than perfect indivuals who perhaps missed the point. (Read inquisition etc.) However it would be false to label Islam, a religion based on works, and say Buddhism, a religion of mentally disciplined neutrality, religions of love.
Though they do indeed share some points, lumping them together is similar to saying all political idealologies are about conservationism, just because they are all represented by a political party.
I shall avoid giving you my opinion on the statues destuction to avoid the scenario of one religions practitioner decrying the ideals and actions of another. I shall exercise tolerance of this closed minded destuction of human history for the sake of religious harmony.
It has happened before and surely will happen again.
