Sorry Sham, I just couldn't get past this: "Before examining the specifics of the Bush energy plan, let's get one thing straight:
there is no credible evidence that the United States is currently facing a nationwide energy crisis. In an editorial in the Washington Post, former president Jimmy Carter explains:
"No energy crisis exists now
that equates in any way with those we faced in 1973 and 1979."
You'll have to give me a quick overview of what it says, I trust you Sham. When I see a statement IMHO that far out of wack with the supporting evidence, I then view the rest with a dump truck load of doubt.
anybody else notice how if the level of an energy crisis in 1973 and 1979 is not reached then that means there is no energy crisis? The correct statement should have been "there is no creditible evidence that the Unitied States is currently facing an energy crisis equating the crisis of 1973 and/or 1979" There is a difference between
no crisis and
no crisis reaching a certain level.*Note 1973 was because OPEC shut the specket(sp?) off do to the Yom Kippor(sp?) war, not because the world was running out of energy. 1979 seems to me it was because oil prices were to low and OPEC wanted more money, but I could be wrong on that, the grey matter hard drive ain't what it used to be. Memory is the 2nd thing to go, and I forgot what the 1st is.
