I know you hate the US with a passion, but why not educate yourself and direct some of that bile towards the truly despicable peoples on earth.

You condemn yourself to more and more ignorance and bigotory with each post dude. Enlightenment is sorely needed, but I am not sure what I can say that will get through to you.
You say I hate America - what utter bollocks. Words cannot express what utter utter gabage that is that you have just uttered. This is the classic Bill O'Rielly tactic you are using. If you don't want to understand something because it doesn't quite espouse your point of view then call it unamerican. What total and utter piffle. Instead of considering that others might have a point, you make different ones that have no relation to the topic at hand. Again - a standard FOX tactic - it isn't necesseary for them to win every issue - confuse the ones that you are losing is an acceptable outcome isn't it.
This debate isn't about stonings or young Iranian girls. It is about your direct association of a country and its people with the title "scum". My point - the one that you have singlemindedly refused to adress is that this form of sweeping condemnation builds the sort of mindset that fostered Abu Ghraib. To this point you have failed to even consider (let alone concede) that that is the case, and introduced a stream of other confusions that don't actually do anything to support your argument.
Simple question - yes or no - do hatreds of races, peoples, colours, religions get fostered / advanced / encouraged by the form of generalisation that you were making. Follow up question - is that a good thing?
For your further edification - the THINGS I dislike in US society are easily listed in a couple of points :
1) The role that FOX plays in making the US populace that views it more ignorant
2) The neo-con section of the repugs that promotes the "go it alone" forms of unilateralism and would seek to tear down the UN rather than fix the system.
3) The song "Achy Breaky Heart"
4) The element that want to shut up shop and isolate themselves from the whole wide world rather than care about what happens to anyone else.
5) The element that brand anything they disagree with as unamerican. That is the crappiest and lowest form of irrational argument ending that I have ever heard of.
6) US trade policy when it is entirely self centred and damages the innocent
7) Genetically modified foods
I am sure that leaves a whole lot more for me to love.
When you say that you have only heard me complain about what the US has done would you like to offer up some evidence rather than this throw-away line. Have I complained of Bush having hidden agenda's - yup. Have I complained about the misinformation that is spread by FOX (ie links betwen Iraq and Al Queda, the "finding" of WOMD, the belief that the world agrees with America's policys, the dicrediting of Dick Clark and Paul O'Neill, the rabid foaming francophobes) - yup. Have I complained about your thread title because I believe it fosters hatred and paranoia - yup. Have I complained at some of the right wing "blogs" that my good mate Ray posts about the UN and various other agendas - yup.
Have I supported the US going into Iraq - yup (surprised are you - check historical posts if you like). Have I supported the completion of the thing that we all started, and that with the facts that troops are in there now they need our support - yup and yup. That last btw doesn't mean that I for one second condone the abuses and negative brutalities that are possible by our occupying forces as evidenced by Abu Ghraib - you don't honestly believe those monsters also deserve my blind support do you just because they are coaltion military? I hope not.
Have I supported the US in making a significant doantion to tsunami relief - yup. Those that feel the need to be overly proud and proclaim their efforts so much better than the UN - I have run ins with them. I am not fond of overly proud people, be they Australians, Brits, Iraqii's or (and this is the only bit you seem to want to object to ) Americans.
Do I hate America - no way bud. The use of that trite piffle argument suggests to me that like Bill O'Reilly, you don't want this discussion to go anywhere or reveal anything - you just want it over. Well apologies from me, because I want people to see things
Thank you and goodnight.
