Right on. They should take this deadly serious, because it is.

From working with survivors of politically motivated torture (which one could argue this would count as if substantiated), I've come to know that torture is a means of oppression rather than a means of information gathering. The answer given to any question under torture will be the one that ends the torture. The questioner would only be validating what s/he already thinks to be true. It's pointless and beyond cruel.
