Interesting post, though I don't have time tonight to read all the articles. Personally I haven't seen any execution footage and in fact actively avoid having to watch it. Somehow I don't think it will increase my horror and sadness and empathy, even if it may repulse me even more than just hearing about the murders does. But to me personally (and I don't think everybody is like that so I understand people will disagree), watching these murders is sort of morbid, especially when done out of a sick kind of curiosity, and just not something you do. To me it has nothing to do with closing my eyes to the atrocities committed in the world, because I already worry about them more often than is healthy, I sometimes think.
