Citizens United is about as non-partisan as, say, the Swift-Boat Vets or MoveOn, in case there was any doubt.

Note that they're part of the group that was trying to restrict distribution of Farenheit 9/11, and that Bossie (foil to Moore) is actually its president.
They're also known for support of the complete withdrawal of the US from the UN, boycotting France and Germany, "exposing corruption in the Clinton administration", while offering complete support for Bush, removing judges who voted for removing "Under god" from the Pledge of Allegiance, and more. Know what you're supporting if you're giving them money.
They were established as non-partisan and non-profit, neither of which seem currently true (assuming film and DVD revenues are going to them).
And for an apparently well funded non-profit dedicated to education and research, some of their policy papers are just plain lazy academically, and none of them offer any kind of research. Nothing new is learned, only opinions proffered. They take the research of others and tack conclusions to the end. So they're more like report-reports. They've been too busy making a movie and Pro-Bush/anti-Kerry commercials I guess.
