The point I wanted to get to, is that most people who kill others feel that their actions are justified, regardless of what we think about them.

If you think killing can be justified and righteous, then you're not being very convincing raging against other killers, unless you can provide proof of some sort of Moral AbsoluteTM to support your standpoint. There might be some very 'clear' cases where we think that killing is justified, but there's a helluva lot of not-so-clear cases as well.
