The cynic in me doesn't like this. Despite jokes about the puppetmaster Cheney, he can't do a damn thing about gay marriage, can he? No, not really. This looks awfully like a calculated (and pathetic) attempt to reach out to the GLBT community without actually doing anything. Make the right seem a bit kinder and salvage whatever regard for the current administration said GLBT community might have.
Disclaimer: Am I this cynical? I really don't know, but this is the impression I get.
