BTW, Memnoch, do you know that the term "spade" is seen by some as vile insult? Admittedly, it's a rather outdated insult, but it still was an nsult against black people.

And here's a sort of local one.

Ever hear of a paddy wagon? It's a slang term for a police prisoner van, if you didn't know. But the roots of the term "paddy" date back to a slang term for the Irish in the US when they were often refered to as "paddies". To this day, there are some Irish-Americans who take considerable offense to the term paddy wagon and equate "paddy" to the N word.
