What really sucks is that Mr. Kalashnikov got stiffed so badly. I saw a documentary on the History Channel that talked about the evolution of weapons since WWII, and it focused on Mr K and the guy who came up with the first version of the M-16. The M-16 originator lived a very prosperous life, while Mr K, though comfortable by Soviet standards, never really received any payment for developing one of the best made and most widely used weapons in history.
