It seems all my fav combos have been vouched for. Except one. My get out of jail free card:

Chain contingency:

Set to activate when helpless (held, stun, panic etc.)

1x Improved Mantle
1x Protection from the Elements
1x Simulacrum

This will save a solo magic users butt countless times. Although if you're good with your buffs, you can play through the game with this contingency set and never use it once. Oh well.
