As it is, I don't see Edwards providing much help. Trial lawyers are not popular, and this guy hasn't been around on the national scene. He could easily pull a Quayle or a Dean.

Well, I'll ignore the unpopularity of trial lawyers, which may be true. As for Edwards not being "around on the national scene," I'd like to note that both Edwards and GWB had about 6 years of public representative service before running for a top executive office, and that Edwards' service was "national" whereas GWB's was not.
