Comparing Afghanistan and Iraq and using it to beat the EU with is spurious too. Afghanistan was part of the war on terror which is why America had the wholehearted support of the EU. Iraq wasn't, and the EU therefore cannot be expected to give their backing to the invasion of a sovereign nation to secure American interests.
