I'm sorry if the use of someone may have been misleading...

I didn't mean to isolate an individual with that operator...

They aren't people I know very well, to say the least, but their inflection of tone, facial expression, and the words following/preceeding those words left me thinking they were being sarcastic.

I hope no one's going to suggest that Australians haven't discovered the gift of sarcasm, and wouldn't thusly use positively-connotated mannerisms as devices of insult. Certainly, when a fella I know brought a movie over that I'd been meaning to see, I said to him, "You son of a bitch, where the hell did you get that?" I wasn't insulting him. I had the broadest of grins on my face (which is rare, I have very bad teeth) and was quite happy of course. It was understood.

This is the last post I will make on this red herring, as I've been strawmanned every step of the way.
