The 9/11 Commission has told me in the past 2 days that
1. no credible evidence of Saddam/AQ ties has been found and
2. the Pentagon is to blame for 9/11 because it didn't figure out what to do about hijacked/missing planes inside of the 60 minutes it had to react.
I think both of these are utter BS. Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 (as Pres. Bush has said) but he did truck with terrorists -- and even sent checks to the families of some suicide bombers you might recall. Colin Powell still asserts that Saddam had some minor relations with AQ, and you'll forgive me if I believe him more than the pencil-neck geeks on the Commission.
Anyway, as feared the 9/11 commission has spent a lot more time being Monday Morning Quarterback than it has advising on how to proceed best in the future. So, it's info is largely useless. It's conclusions are nearly baseless, and it has concluded contrary to most everything those who testified before it stated.
In other words, if the Commission were on fire, I wouldn't piss on it to help it out. Actually, now that I think of it, pissing on the Commission happens to be the happiest thought I've had today.
