You know, certain cult sects of the Born Again variety believe that the 'Rapture' (the spontaneous movement of the faithful to Heaven before the final conflict) cannot occur until Israel rebuilds the Temple Mount. The BA faithful urgently await its reconstruction so that they can go meet God (...and consequently destroy the rest of the world by Armageddon, but hey why sweat the small stuff?). And Temple Mount can't be rebuilt without bulldozing the Al-Aqsa mosque.

Now I've seen too many crazy things in this world to say whether this is the Word of God or not. But given the slightest chance that it could trigger Armageddon, I'd have to say I'm firmly against Any possible reconstruction of Temple Mount.
