Which brings me back to thinking the real reason Israel pulled this stunt was to stiffle peace talks. The last thing Israel appears to want (from what I've seen the last 4-5 years) is peace. It's a ready-made recipe:
1. Enter peace negotiations with Palestine to placate world leaders.
2. Make progress in talks.
3. Create a problem that ruins all the progress.
4. Enjoy several months of mayhem.
5. Repeat.
