Much as I love sexist jokes ("What do you call the rim of flabby skin around a vagina?" "A woman" [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) I think Illumina makes a good point and it's a shame everybody ignored it.
Personally I would consider it a stupid idea if a Woman's History (or *gag* "Herstory" [img]graemlins/dontknowaboutyou.gif[/img] ) Month or even Day were introduced in my country, and I would certainly not want to celebrate it.
But it is definitely true that history has been chronicled by men, and only tells us about the deeds of men. That's a shame, and there's little we can do about it now (except have women writers write tacky fictionalised anachronistic histories

) but I think we should at least realise and recognise it when we study history or use history as a science.
