The funny thing is that he (Bush) happens to have most of the world's WOMD at his beck and call

. Makes me wonder though what the purpose of so many missiles is nowadays. It used to be that there was the bogey of the Soviets to counter and offset. That was the nuclear deterrent age where if you fire em at me you'll get em straight back atchoo. Nowadys the biggest threat seems to derive from the potential for terrorists to smuggle in a single dirty device. Heaven forbid that something like that ever happens - it's something that only a madman could wish, but if it did - where do the retaliation missiles get launched? Like the logical assumption is nowhere, well, unless we are going to regain faith in all those intelligence agencies about the world that had such overwhelming and conclusive proof before we dropkicked the Sadman.
On a brighter note - I finally watched the movie that caused all the fuss. After watching Bowling for Columbine just now I ejected the DVD thinking that documentary deserved an Oscar. Then I put in the bonus DVD and found that it did win one

. Congratulations to the Academy for getting it right. Now we just need a Peter Jackson best Director award in the upcoming champagne shindig.
