Actually most accidents are preventable but they do occasionally occur. If Magik is to be believed that these things happen all the time, bombs falling out of airplanes that is than maybe the US military should get off there asses and perform a needed risk assessment of these accidents to see how they can be reduced to a minimum. Believe me no oil company would get away with an accident like that happening all the time. Most oil and gas refineries just need an ignition source for something to go wrong while it is almost impossible to prevent all ignition sources they can do there damned best from the location of a parking lot to not allowing employees to smoke on the job or near the plant, to back up systems for shutting down operations to the entire plant . While it is still possible for an accident to occur it is slim because if someone were to get hurt they may have there ass sued. If someone tries to sue the US military the tax payer pays so General Ding Dong doesn't really give a crap, and they are not so bloody concerned as a private company or corporation. Now maybe they do do risk assesments, and investigate incident reports, but with the lax attitude of "that is the cost of doing business", I highgly doubt it takes these things seriously enough. Now the attitude "Something went wrong we will do our damned finest to make sure it doesn't happen again" is the attitude they need.
