TOTALLY OFFTOPIC:

If you don't mind I will omce again toot my own horn, but I personally have started topics in the CE forum about "good news". Several threads on science topics, the thread on successful religous tolerance featuring the Dali Lamma and Muhamed Ali dedicating a multi-faith temple and the Christian Schoolmaster of a Muslim school in Austrailia, several nice exchanges of philosophical ideas, and others. But really thats besides the point.

Most discussion about serious topics is going to have a 'bad news' angle. One person's good news is usually another persons no news and yet possibly another person's bad news. Thats reality. Plus, the media industry is practically a bad news machine. But that is also reality. Bad news tends to be the world's problems in disguise and we can't solve problem with out confronting and examining them.

To reiterate a previous point from another post: the commentary on a comment that seems to have been taken personally-

Comments like:
Quote:
"....no one here really wants to hear about it.

The majority would rather huff and puff about the bad and ignore any good."
Is both unrealistic and unfair to the general populace of the forum. I disagree with this comment. I also find this kind of comment to be 'less than useful'.
It is similiar to a previous commentary that my posting style was alot of complaining as well.

Here is the idea: An opinion of a vast majority of posters in this forum is that they just want to huff and puff and ignore good news is probably an opinion best kept to ones self. Perhaps for the good of the forum.

Now, I certainly don't take it personally as its just an opinion, one I think is not true, yet the comment was offered here publicly to be commented upon so I did so. I do not see why my commenting on these comments could be taken personally.

I can only speak for myself, but I love good news, I pray everyday for good news the world over and I say blessings when I hear/see it. Peace and Prosperity on Earth and Goodwill towards all People.
