Trying to find the source...but I should clarify. It's 70% of ALL marrages...both failed on successful ones. Look at it this way...if 50% of marrages end in divorce, and we assume that almost all of those divroces had cheating involved...and 50% of existing marrages 'survive' cheating...then one can logically see where 70% doesn't seem so high any more.
The statistic was not derived this way, just a logical way to look at it. Of course, one could also argue the fact that the guys who've had 5 wives and have cheated on all of them scuwed the statistic...but I think they factored all of that into it. I'm pretty sure the exact statistic was something to the effect of 70% of all men who have been married have cheated at least once while married.
