k-man, i think the problem dreamer's article refers to is that, under a fully privatised industry, a small handful, or even a single, entity can potentially control all of the major media in a country.
as acknowledged in that other thread about media bias, every media outlet has some bias. and if one, or a small handful, control all the media, that bias will be singularly one way.
personally, i'd rather have the option to watch and read as wide a variety of news sources as possible so that i can make my own judgement about events and policies.
