The current Bama governer tried to sell a tax increase ballot initiative as the "Christian" thing to vote for and it was soundly defeated at the ballot, so maybe the folks down there don't neccessarliy vote on an issue based soley on interpretation of religous values.

There is a big difference between trying to sell a tax increase as a "Christian thing to do" and displaying a multi-ton granite monument as evidence of your core Christian values. I don't know when the current governors term expires, but if it is within the next two years, I would say Moore would have a good shot at it. Here was a man willing to risk his job for his Christian beliefs...that WILL sell with the Christian crowd. It shows that Moore won't back down from his Christian beliefs, no matter how hard he is pressed to do so.

But time will tell.
