That's because you want to get your voice heard. Not saying anything, and not protesting would be the same as agreeing with the situation. I would rather say what I think of it than not saying anything and then complaining later or wondering what would have happened if I had indeed done something...
Your argument could just as well be said about voting. You could say that one vote can't make a difference. So if you yourself really can't change anything, then what's the point of voting?
