Get a barbarian. Unless you have the Baldurdash Grand Mastery mod, the payoffs for getting a barb are enormous. More hp, rage that doesn't **** you over afterwards, and you can still use any weapon. Best of all, with either DoE+2 (check Dundee's post,) or Shadow/White Dragon Scale, you don't need to worry about the armor restrictions.
