thank you that was very informative, ive only got bg installed atm, i had it installed one other time also, and had the same problem with it, this time i installed the latest patch hopeing it would help but it didnt, in actual fact this is the first time that ive actually had that error, last time i had it installed i got through to chapter 6, then did a format and lost it all, and never bothered to play again cause of all the troubles i had with it the first time, but i'll go through what you suggested and give it a try, i do have an auto save of when i arrived in town so i'll try that one too, to see if it was a saved error, thanx alot again for your help
